Reflexology originates from Ancient Egypt, there is evidence to show Egyptian practitioner performed hand and foot treatments for relaxation and better health   This treatment has been discovered in China, India and now all over the world.

About reflexology

​

Reflexology is a non-invasive, natural, relaxing, hands-on treatment by applying light pressure to the soles of the feet or the palms of the hands.  The soles of the feet are mapped out with organs, glands and body parts. Stimulating these areas by applying light pressure on the reflex points on the feet, aids in relaxation, healing and gets the ‘chi’ moving to clear any stagnation or blockages.  This promoting the body to feel whole again and energised.

What happens during treatment?

​

Before the treatment, you will be asked about your well-being as this will support me during the treatment.  Allowing me to spend extra time in specific areas to support you on your recovery for good health.

​

During the treatment, clients will lie on their back with their feet raised. You will be asked to take a few deep breaths to relax your mind and body.  The treatment starts off with a light foot massaged to relax the feet and then the treatment will begin.   

 

After the treatment, if I have notices areas that need extra care and support like to share with you if I noticed anything and suggest ways that can support you to optimal health. You also be asked to drink plenty of water after your treatment water after so you can cleanse out of the body's system, this is a form of detoxification that occurs after the treatment.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

​

Reflexology is safe during pregnancy from 12 weeks onwards, it can support relaxation, backache, heartburn and many more. If you would like to learn more, please message me with your questions.

This treatment is safe for babies, from 3 months.  Some babies suffer from colic and digestive issue and stimulating the area can help calm and strengthen organs and glands.
